Staring off the new month with so much love! It was so fun to see the Sauvignon Blanc feature in print this past Sunday in the SF Chronicle. The world of Smith Story is buzzing with optimism as we begin to honestly feel a bit of pre-pandemic normality with our fine wine accounts and overall business. From the cellar, we're releasing two perfectly aged and highly acclaimed red wines. Our gorgeous 2016 Smith Story Pickberry Vineyard Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are now available on our Wine Shop page and in our tasting room. Both wines are a perfect match during these chilly winter evenings. These will go fast, please don't miss out!
Both Eric and I fell hard for fine wine largely because each bottle contains loads of history and also a cool geology lesson. Smith Story Wines are made from family farmers, sustainable, no-pesticides, mostly dry-farmed, zero residual sugar (though our Brut does have a little of course) very hands-off in the cellar and contain low alcohol levels too. You helped us put our family business on the map, we're focused and determined to achieve a level of success that we have always dreamed of in 2023! Join us February 10 or 11th for our encore “Dungeness Crab Cake & Wine Pairing”, featuring Smith Story Sparkling Brut and 2016 Smith Story Dutton Ranch Chardonnay, Russian River Valley. Details and to reserve on TOCK . The Friday tastings are 5-8pm “Smith Story by Candlelight” and Saturday seating is from 12-4pm. Plan for an hour with us. Reservation deadline is this Sunday at midnight.
Sonoma Coast Winemaker Dinner at Diavola Pizzeria & Salumeria: February 11 Featuring Ali Story, pouring our library selection of 2015 Smith Story Thorn Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast. Details and to reserve a seat here.
Valentine's at Timber Cove Resort in Jenner: Ali, Eric and Sandwich are pouring from 4-6pm in the great room. Timber Cove Resort is a wonderful place to relax along the Sonoma Coast. Dog friendly too! Let us know if you make plans, if the weather cooperates, an afternoon gathering around the firepit would be so fun.
SMITH STORY SPRING 2023 RELEASE
We’re bottling our biggest round of wines since 2019 right now. A few new vineyards and some old faithfuls too. This release is so very special as we release our 2022 Smith Story Sauvignon Blanc from Sonoma Mountain, a brand new 2022 White Rhone Blend from Dry Creek Valley that has been sitting in a concrete egg and our new 2022 BRAVE Carbonic Zinfandel from the top peaks of the Russian River Valley.
Storyteller shipments will process on March 1 and will receive first round of allocation. Please know that Storyteller benefits are a nice savings for our most loyal Smith Story enthusiasts and guests. Shipments can be customized to your liking as well. March 25 we’re planning a Storyteller Brunch at a local restaurant then open for pickup that afternoon and on Sunday March 26. Details about joining are here.
